Natural Mask for Healthy Hair

Main - Natural Mask for Healthy Hair

Since the last time I cut my hair short (several years ago), I’ve been determined to grow it out long – usually once it reaches shoulder length, and I get bored and chop it off. My hair does not grow quickly at all, and once it gets to a certain point, it seems like it just stops growing. I chatted with my stylist recently, and she said the best things you can do for your hair is to have it trimmed regularly, and to keep it as healthy as possible.

After quite a bit of research and googling, I decided to start using a mask on my hair, twice per week, to keep it healthy. There are all kinds of DIY natural hair masks out there, but here’s what I have been putting in mine:

2 tablespoons olive oil (super hydrating)
2 tablespoons honey (great moisturizing properties, and makes your hair shiny)
1 tablespoon vodka (a great natural conditioner (really!), and helps mix everything together)
egg yolk (the protein helps promote healthy hair growth)

Since everything wants to separate, I put it all into a squeeze bottle, and shake it up until combined. Add it to your (dry) hair, all over but focusing on the ends, wrap it up, and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cool water, and shampoo and condition as usual.

2 - Sqeezy Bottle

I was skeptical when I first tried this, but I noticed a huge difference in the feel of my hair after the very first time – so soft and silky! I’ve been doing this for about a month now, and my hair is definitely healthier – even the ends of may hair, that used to feel pretty crunchy, feel pretty healthy.
