Skiing in La Plagne

March 22, 2017 / by Liz

Well hello there! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything because we’ve been travelling for the past few weeks. We’re trying to squeeze in all the European goodness we can before we pack up our apartment and head back to Newfoundland for good. We’re currently finishing up a little road trip around the southern coast of Spain and Portugal, and I’ll post about that next week, but for now I just wanted to post a few highlights from our recent skiing adventure in the alps at La Plagne !

In previous years, I’ve also skied at La Clusaz and Val d’Isère , but I have to say that this years trip to La Plagne was my favourite. We stayed right on the mountain (you stored your skis in the basement of the chalets, and skied directly outside), and the snow conditions we’re great. The resort was so large and covered so much altitude that even if the conditions were a little marginal at higher altitudes, they were likely great at sections lower in altitude, and vice versa. And they had several huge dumps of snow before we arrived (and while we were there) so we had a couple nice days of powder – my fav. Here are a few of my favourite pictures from the trip!

{Finally got Hitchen onto (the equivalent of) a double black run!}

{Which resulted on a some epic falls on both our parts…}

{Burgers and beer are the best ski foods.}

{Hot wine is a close second.}

{Tim after he hit a lift pole. He was totally fine and it was hilarious.}

{The most amazing views.}
