Stamped Ombré Nail Art

April 12, 2016 / by Liz

I’ve mostly been painting my nails with a solid colour lately, but last week I finally got around to adding a little design using stamps. And to make it a little more interesting, I did the stamping with a colour gradient! Here’s how I did it…

(Also, if you’re curious about the stamping tools I use, I posted about them here .)

I used a nude base colour ( ‘Cookies & Cream’ from Ciaté ), and two different shades of blue for the stamping ( ‘Cobalt Blue’ from Mavala , and ‘Into the Blue’ from Probelle ).

I started with a base coat, and then two coats of the base colour. Once the base colour was good and dry (at least 20 minutes), I added liquid nail tape around each nail that I planned to stamp (so that the stamped polish wouldn’t get all over my fingers).

Then, working quickly, I painted each half of the design on the stamping plate with the two blues, and immediately scraped away the excess.

Then roll the stamping tool over the design, and transfer it to your nail.

Add a top coat, and you’re done!

Easy and cute!
