Stamped Ombré Nail Art

April 12, 2016 / by Liz

I’ve mostly been painting my nails with a solid colour lately, but last week I finally got around to adding a little design using stamps. And to make it a little more interesting, I did the stamping with a colour gradient! Here’s how I did it…

(Also, if you’re curious about the stamping tools I use, I posted about them here.)

I used a nude base colour (‘Cookies & Cream’ from Ciaté), and two different shades of blue for the stamping (‘Cobalt Blue’ from Mavala, and ‘Into the Blue’ from Probelle).

I started with a base coat, and then two coats of the base colour. Once the base colour was good and dry (at least 20 minutes), I added liquid nail tape around each nail that I planned to stamp (so that the stamped polish wouldn’t get all over my fingers).

Then, working quickly, I painted each half of the design on the stamping plate with the two blues, and immediately scraped away the excess.

2 - Polish on Stamping Plate

3 - Polish on Stamping Plate Scraped

Then roll the stamping tool over the design, and transfer it to your nail.

Add a top coat, and you’re done!

5 - Stamped With Top Coat

Easy and cute!
