(Real!) Flower Nail Art

July 27, 2015 / by Liz

While at Sephora last week searching for some hair products, I stumbled upon this super cute nail art kit from Ciaté … and it was on sale! It came with a pink polish (‘candy floss’), a quick-drying top coat, tiny nail file, tweezers, and (the best part) tiny dried flowers. Needless to say, I bought it, and couldn’t wait to try it out.

1 - The Kit

I first used a base coat (not included with the kit), followed by three coats of the pink polish. Then I picked out the flowers I wanted to use.

2 - The Flowers

To apply them, I painted on a layer of top coat (working with just one nail at a time), placed the flower onto the wet polish with the tweezers, and then used the tweezers to gently press them into place.

3 - Polish + Place Flowers

I let my nails dry for a minute or so, and then used cuticle scissors to trim away any excess / overhanging flower pieces.

4 - Trim Excess

Finally, I finished it off with a layer of top coat (two coats on the nails with flowers, one coat on the nails without).

5 - Top Coat

That’s it! I was really happy with how this manicure turned out, and how easy the flowers were to use. It’s been three days since I painted my nails, and they’re still going strong – no chips or anything.
