Ombré Nails

Main - Ombre Nails

Ombre nails have been pretty trendy for a while now. I’ve really wanted to try them, but was a little intimidated for some reason… I pictured using the sponge to smudge the colour and getting it all over my fingers. But after trying it, it was surprisingly easy! Here’s how I did it…

I started by painting all of my nails with a solid green colour.

1 - Green

Next, I painted the gold colour across the tips of my nails, and used a sponge to gently smudge the colour about 2/3 of the way up my nail bed.

2 - Gold on Tip

3 - Use Sponge

4 - First Pass

To make more of a gradient, I painted more gold on the tips, and used the sponge again, this time only pushing the paint about 1/3 of the way up my nail bed (so that the gold was more solid near the tip).

5 - More Gold on Tips

6 - End Result

And that’s pretty much it! So many colour options for this technique…. :)

Final - Ombre Nails
