Ever since I posted this Leather iPad Case DIY, I’ve become a little obsessed with making things from leather. It’s pretty easy to work with, looks cute when it’s done, and it’s much cheaper than buying leather cases and accessories! So last week, I made an iPhone case (and have future plans for a laptop case and some hair accessories…)
I started by making a simple pattern for the leather. I traced my phone, and then extended the sides and bottom by an extra 5/16″ (to allow for the phone thickness and stitching).
Then I used the pattern to cut out two pieces of leather. To make sewing them together easier, I used tape to stick the two pieces together. (Make sure you remove the tape once you’ve sewed up one side and the bottom, or it’ll be really hard to get out of the pouch!)
Then, just use a blanket stitch to sew around the sides and bottom, leaving the top open.
I love how this turned out!
