Apple Hand Pie Filling

Yield: ~4 cups

Apple Hand Pie Filling


  • 5 apples
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (dissolved in a little warm water)


  • Peel, core, and dice the apples. Place the apples, lemon juice, sugar, and spices in a medium pot, and cook over medium heat until boiling and the apples are tender. Stir in the cornstarch, and set aside to cool.
