As much as I’d say I’m a very organized person, the closet in my front porch had somehow become a complete mess. All kinds of things were poked in there (just to hide them), and there were more coats than I knew what to do with. It was beginning to cause me anxiety. Seriously. So I decided it was time for a little organization.
I started by taking almost everything out of the closet. I packed away winter coats and boots (since I won’t be needing those for a few months), and stored them away in large boxes in the basement. When winter arrives, I’ll switch them out for my spring and summer coats.
I also seemed to have an abundance of things that belonged to other people. I end up sticking it up there on the closet shelf with the intension of bringing it back…. and then forget about it, or it just ends up lost in the mess. So I made an attempt to return some things, and also added a box where I can put things that are awaiting return to their owners (since I always seem to have a few things around that aren’t mine). I also added labeled boxes for my motorcycle gear, shoe cleaners and polishes, and hats and mits. I like using clear boxes so that you can see what’s in them.
Things got worse before they got better….
But a few hours later… success! PHEW.
Feeling much better now.
