Favorite Cookbooks

Main

I have a lot of cookbooks. Mostly baking themed (because that’s my favourite). I keep the ones I use most in a basket near my kitchen, but I’ve been forced to move many of them to the basement in storage containers because there just isn’t enough space. Although I do get a lot of use from my cookbooks, and love trying new recipes, most of the time I just read them as if they were regular books. There must be something wrong with me, but I genuinely enjoy just reading recipes. And looking at all the pretty pictures… ♥

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to make a list of my top 5 all-time favourite cookbooks! Here goes.

#5 | Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for more than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats

This book is more of an amazing cake pop instruction manual. Not a ton of recipes, but definitely fantastic. It’s worth it for the pictures alone.

Cake Pops - Bakerella

#4 | Milk & Cookies: 89 Heirloom Recipes from New York’s Milk & Cookies Bakery

Every cookie you’ve ever craved. This book has the recipes.

Milk & Cookies

#3 | Martha Stewart’s Pies & Tarts

With recipes for sweet and savoury pastries, classic pies, and other fancy sweets, I use this book all the time.

#2 | Miette: Recipes From San Francisco’s Most Charming Pastry Shop

I really, really love this book. In addition to fabulous recipes, this book has all kinds of information that every baker should know, from essential tools, to why your ingredients need to be at room temperature prior to mixing. Although the recipes tend to be a little unnecessarily complicated, this is an all-round awesome book. It also makes me wish that I owned and worked in a cute little pastry shop like this one.

#1 | Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes

Yes, my all time favourite is another Martha book. Let’s face it, the woman knows what she’s at. I’ve used this one so often that it’s literally falling apart. Lots of fabulous recipes, and the pictures are inspiring.
